Freedom to Marry and Equality Florida hold town hall meeting in Miami

On the heels of a federal court’s announcement that it will not extend a stay on marriages for same-sex couples in Florida, Freedom to Marry, Equality Florida, and SAVE are hosting a town hall on December 10, 2014 to discuss what’s next in the Sunshine State and how - and when - the U.S. Supreme Court will bring nationwide resolution to the question of the freedom to marry.

The discussion during the town hall will be led by Republican strategist and CNN political contributor Ana Navarro, president of Freedom to Marry Evan Wolfson, and deputy director of Equality Florida Stratton Pollitzer.

The town hall will be held shortly after the 11th Circuit of Appeals denied the state's request to extend the stay in Brenner v. Scott, meaning that same-sex couples should be able to begin getting married as early as January 5. However, an appeal is also moving forward in the case, meaning that a ruling against the freedom to marry could ban same-sex couples from marriage yet again.

This event is free to attend, and will be held at O Cinema Wynwood, 90 NW 29th Street, ?Miami, FL 33127.
